One of the best things about www.eventtap.com is the fact that it is free to find and share events that are going on. You can then use some of the additional "share" features to not only automatically post your eventtap events to Facebook, but also share other's events through multiple channels with the share button. This means that no matter if it is your event, something your buddy shared or even your favorite Thursday night Bars open mic night, you can share it with so many people with just the click of your mouse!
To make things even better, everyone gets their own eventtap URL. You can change this in the My Account settings, and it gives you a link right to your own eventtap page, profile picture and everything. Want to know whats going on this week at a specific venue? eventtap.com/(name of the venue) . Want to see your page? www.eventtap.com/myevents . Its a wonderful thing to have a profile page like this and the ability to share it with everyone with an easy link!

Not your typical event site, things to do, right now
I know, you're aware, but just to re-iterate! eventtap has grown some since last post, not necessarily in leaps and bounds or in total evolution, but some new features that will make your real-time event experience that much sweeter!
To begin with we've started to integrate with Facebook a bit more to help spread the word to all of your friends, and save you some valuable time. Every time you add an event to www.eventtap.com , you have the option of it automatically posting to your Facebook wall! Not only does this kill two birds with one stone, but it'l give some incentive to your piers to start taking advantage of this outstanding tool we've provided you with, why wouldnt you use it?!
See a venue's profile that is missing a description, picture, url etc.? Suggest one with the new suggest feature. Everyone now has the opportunity to help improve the site, whether it be a personal profile page, venue or even just some general feedback, participation by everyone and anyone can only lead to better site experience for our users!
Speaking of site experience, want help choosing what to do? Check the new weather widget! Aprox temp and weather conditions are now at your fingertips while browsing events, click for a full weather report! At the same time, use the new filter by category feature to help narrow your search results or displayed events to make it that much easier!
The sites load time has experienced a little turbo boost, with some tweaks on the back end, giving you super quick access to things going on right now, around you. Already more convenient than before, you're welcome.

Press
Slowly but surely traffic has continued to increase, in fact, it has literally doubled within the past few weeks. With the addition of a new team member, we've already begun to see returns to the new change! Our Twitter page has been getting new followers daily, Facebook has given us some new exposure to the Boston Area, and we now have a You Tube Chanel to share any footage we have captured from events we've been able to attend from eventtap.com. All good things, and collectively they are helping to fuel us in the forward moving direction, all of course with the help and participation from our fast-growing user community!
The feedback button that we added a while back has continued to help us with our progress, so keep using it. In addition we've also added a new feature, a search field. This makes it super easy to search through events on our site. Looking for something specific to do and don't see it? No problem, type in a keyword and search!
On a final note, we got some Press!! Recently there was an article that was written about our team and the website. This is the first time, since we launched the site in mid June, that we have been publicly
recognized in this manner! Pretty cool huh? We thought so too. Check out the article written by Dan Aceto here:

Progress
Great news! With some huge steps forward on the back end we are starting to see more events posted and more people taking advantage. We are feeling better and better each day as we continue to progress, still awaiting any additional feedback from the users!
Did someone say mobile-app? Be patient its almost done! Keeps getting better and better, we know. Will update soon wtih more news, but we are very excited as eventtap begins to mature....baby steps

Hello eveyone, thanks for checking out the new blog! Let me take a second to introduce to you this new idea that has just recently been exposed to the world! How many times have you found yourself sitting on the couch, hanging out with a beer in one hand and your Blackberry in the other, waiting for your buddies to let you know whats going on? Do you spend a few minutes now and then trying to feel spontaneous but coming up empty handed, many times settling for the same old same old? We figured it out.
After hours on google, looking up this and that, finding a few failed atempts at a solution and a few decent goes at the task, we came up with our own: A completely user generated, real time, live feed of constantly updating events and things to do, right now around you. Like a stream of events that's always there, especially when fun in your life may not be!
Without originally planning it, we have also provided a free platform on which local business can also advertise and spread the word about what they have to offer to the bored crowd! Doubly whammy. Why wouldn't people love it? Great question, and no good answer. Its ridiculously sweet for everyone. And if you don't like it, tell us why! We need to know. Its easy to leave feedback, sign up without having to tell us your blood type, and post an event in 47 seconds flat!
The website, www.eventtap.com is in its baby stages, it says beta right on it, and its not a finished product! Help us work out the kinks and get this thing going, because without users it wont exist! We've provided the tool, use it!!
